The HRB is now seeking to recruit a full time, permanent Programme Manager to establish and lead the Secretariat of the NREC. This is a new post and provides an opportunity for a suitably qualified candidate to manage a high-functioning team that can develop effective policies, processes and procedures to support the NREC Committees and their work, while also ensuring strong working relationships with key stakeholders such as the Department of Health, existing institutional RECs and the HPRA. A key responsibility of the role will be close engagement with relevant national and international stakeholders to ensure continued best practice, development of standards, appropriate strategic direction for national research ethics review and that the role of the National Office is understood within the Irish health research system. More generally, s/he will work with the research community and Institutional Research Ethics Committees to ensure that the role of the NREC Committees is understood within the Irish health research framework. Duties will include (but are not limited to):  Establishing the National Office for Research Ethics Committees.  Effective functioning of the National Office for Research Ethics Committees.  Managing policies and processes.  Communication with the health research community.
