Duties and Responsibilities. * Developing Friends First Prophet models for IFRS and Solvency 2 requirements to incorporate existing business. * Preparation of technical specifications for new developments. * Integration and rationalisation of Prophet models across the two businesses. * Management of model releases. * Ensuring appropriate systems and controls are in place around model development and management. * Developing reporting spreadsheets and applications to support the Actuarial processes. * Liaising with other teams within Actuarial, IT, Accounting and migrations. Knowledge and Experience. The ideal candidate will possess the following: * An actuarial background gained in a life office environment. * An extensive knowledge of life insurance: o An understanding of reporting bases, i.e. IFRS, Solvency 2. o Exposure to a wide range of product types, including knowledge of the financial structure and operation of Life and Pension products. * Familiarity with financial modelling concepts and practice. * Highly experienced in the use of DCS to manipulate data in particular Model Point File data. * An excellent working knowledge of Prophet - a minimum of two years' experience of specifying, developing, and maintaining models is required: o Significant experience in the development of the traditional deterministic libraries, e.g. Conventional, With-Profit and Unit linked business. * Motivated to produce accurate work whilst under pressure and to tight timescales. * Good team player and strong communication skills, both written and oral.
