Commercial Project Manager (Engineering. Description and role purpose. The primary role of the Commercial Project Manager is to manage a focused team of commercial analysts and senior analysts, to efficiently and speedily derive key techno-economic data to facilitate key business decisions. Facilitation of iterative commercial cycles based on technical and market information will be central to this role. The CPM will bring a strong technical/engineering knowledge base and combine it with commercial acumen. Key to this role is understanding the technology to a sufficient degree, identifying the commercial cross over and targeting key elements which influence the commercial viability of the company's technology. Key responsibilities. Commercial Model Ownership - driving the direction of the team and the tools used to derive commercial data and market position. Conducting and directing market research into identified areas of value for the business. This will be driven by internal and external resources (via consultants. Demonstration and Technology Development. Achieving TRLs of 5, 6, 7 and 8 will require increasingly more challenging and costly demonstration projects. Planning of said demonstrations will be key and commercial arrangements must be developed with a variety of partners. IP . Working closely with the company's IP analyst, legal counsel, and technical teams. Developing an understanding of the company's competitive position because of IP development, acquisition, or deficiencies. Using this information to drive team objectives and areas of focus. Grant funding proposal coordination . The company will apply for grant funding through various national and European funding mechanisms. The CPM will coordinate the drafting of the proposals, liaise with consortium members, coordinate sign off decisions and work with the Chief Public Affairs Officer. Presentation and clear communication of information across all the aforementioned areas is key with audiences consisting of the executive team and board members. Supporting with KPI and milestone definition year on year. Management of external consultants - developing the case for external support where required, developing tender documents, coordinating tender competitions, tender scoring and assessment, consultant management throughout engagements, ensuring outputs are tailored to the company's internal requirements. Managing budgets related primarily to external service providers. Experience and Skills. Ability to converse with Engineers on technical subjects, a bachelor's degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience would be advantageous. Ability to flex between detailed engineering discussion (designs, documentation, imagery), commercial strategy and macro policy impacting our market(s. Desirable - experience working with research institutions, novel technologies and/or OEMs in the energy sector. Experience in offshore infrastructure industries, the electrical transmission market, regulation, infrastructure consenting and transboundary assets; would be beneficial.
