It takes a leading role in shaping the strategic vision for the city.  The Council is increasingly exploring new and innovative ways to tackle City challenges and deliver services while meeting citizens’ service expectations, achieving efficiencies and continuing to meet the demand for increased accountability.    An opportunity now exists in Dublin City Council for the role of Chief Quantity Surveyor.    The Chief Quantity Surveyor has responsibility for the effective management on a day to day basis of the staff of the Quantity Surveyors Division. They will proactively manage staff within the Division, will lead and support organisational innovation and continuous improvement, and will be involved in various capacities with Government Departments, Approved Housing Bodies, and other local authorities.     The successful candidate will:   • hold a professional qualification in Quantity Surveying that is prescribed under the Building Control Act 2007, or a qualification in Quantity Surveying that is equivalent to a qualification so prescribed in Section 29 of the Building Control Act 2007, and:   • be eligible for registration as a Quantity Surveyor under the Building Control Act 2007 without requiring further assessment.  Any appointment by the employing local authority will be subject to registration under the Act;   • have at least ten years satisfactory relevant experience in quantity surveying;   • possess a high standard of technical training and expertise.   Full details of the essential requirements of the role are available in the Candidate Information Booklet for this competition.    The Public Appointments Service is committed to a policy of equal opportunity and encourage applications under all nine grounds of the Employment Equality Act.  .
