Our client is global technology development company developing innovative electrical transmission technology and they have an exciting new opportunity. You will: Be reporting to the Head of R&D. Be responsible for development of system electrical modelling. Be representing the integration & operation of our technology using PSCAD & Simulink. Show how your power systems modelling work will aid superconducting cable design. Develop electrical modelling capabilities. Lead interactions between the company & academic institutions for electrical model development. You will be working in a top class R&D Team reporting directly to the Head of R&D & Chief Engineer alongside a diverse & innovative technical team. Undertake research & development studies of the superconducting cable system design for integration with HVDC power grids & offshore wind farms. Perform detailed electrical design surrounding the protection & control of the superconducting cable system using PSCAD. Analyse the integration challenges involving conventional OEM equipment & superconductor cable systems. Analyse, develop & present technical proposals & reports. Engage with senior management on the development of the superconductor cable system technology. Qualifications & Experience. A master's degree in Electrical Engineering. Experience with power system modelling software PSCAD or similar (essential. Good working knowledge of Voltage Source Converter (VSC) transmission technology & HVDC grid modelling. Excellent oral, written & presentation skills. Enjoy working as part of a high performing team. Keen interest in the Energy Sector.
