Description

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions is seeking a senior lawyer with the necessary vision, leadership and executive management skills to lead a Division in the Office and contribute to the delivery a world class national prosecution service for the people of Ireland.    The fundamental function of the Director of Public Prosecutions is the direction and supervision of public prosecutions and related criminal matters.   Reporting to the Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions, the Deputy Chief Prosecutor will lead the Prosecution Support Services Division and will be responsible for supporting the criminal prosecution work in the areas of international law, victims’ liaison and policy, research and knowledge management. The Division comprises a number of multi-disciplinary teams.   Deputy Chief Prosecutors represent the Office on national and international groups which deal with a range of criminal justice matters and engage with a range of stakeholders on behalf of the Office.  They also represent the Office on groups developing cross sectoral responses to the criminal justice sector issues and lead internal Office groups which are tasked with examining strategic organisational and legal issues with a view to seeking to increase efficiencies and standards of excellence in public prosecutions.
