My client is a cutting-edge global technology development company that designs superconducting transmission systems. They aim to connect renewable generation and increase grid interconnection in mature transmissions markets. In this role you will be responsible for carrying out testing on samples to aid company in gaining a fundamental understanding of key materials. You will be working in our Research and Development Team reporting directly to the Workshop Lead alongside a diverse and innovative technical team. Your Responsibilities: Maintain laboratory site and experimental facilities. Work with liquid nitrogen flows, pressurized systems, energized electrical equipment, hand-operated power tools, and basic machine shop equipment. Aid in developing and updating test procedures. Work with the Health and Safety team to ensure the safe operation of the lab. Conducting testing within the laboratory. Preparation of samples. Recording test results and communicating them to the team. Routine checks and maintenance on test equipment. Experience: Proven experience with using test equipment. Detail orientated, experience in following test procedures. Experience using MS Office (Word, Excel. Ability to work independently. Good communications style. Qualifications: Essential: Certification or Qualification in Engineering, Science, or a relevant field. 2+ years of related professional experience (preferably in a product development or testing environment. Desired: Experience working with and handling cryogenic fluids/systems and/or other hazardous fluids. Ability to use research data acquisition systems (such as NI Max, LABView) and instruments (such as oscilloscopes/digitizers, temperature sensors, pressure sensors, accelerometers, strain gauges.
