PLC Programmer / Automation Engineer. Our client develops and manufactures production and packaging equipment for industry. We have been retained to recruit a PLC Programmer / Automation Engineer. There is flexibility as to where in Ireland the successful candidate is based as the role is work from home with travel. A lot of the main business is in Limerick, Waterford and Dublin, so the ideal is to have the successful candidate located somewhere in this area. There may also be a requirement for international travel, although a large amount of the work involved can be done remotely. In this role you will: Commission and test control programs for packaging machines at the company's plant in Germany and at customers' sites in Ireland. Implementation and documentation of software tests for programs. Create and edit HMI systems for machines. Analyze problems and troubleshoot issues remotely or at customer sites. Carry out maintenance/ modification visits at customer’s sites.   Requirements for this role: Degree in Electronic / Automation Engineering. Relevant industrial experience in an automation role, ideally in the pharmaceutical/ medical device industry. Good working knowledge of PLC programming, ideally Schneider and/or Rockwell (Allen Bradley), Codesys, or other PLC systems. Creativity and inventiveness in the solution of complex requirements. Personal initiative and independent work. High communication and teamwork skills. Good written and spoken English language skills is required.  .
